Nesta palestra, David Spiegel a certa altura (tempo 1:39:42), refere o seguinte:
There's plenty of evidence that social isolation is bad for your health. This [image] is from a review from James House in Science showing that people who were low in social isolation had about a two fold increase in their all cause mortality rate – and this is true for cancer as well – than people who were well integrated socially. It might interest you to know that the kind of social integration that's good for your health if you're a man, is to be married. If you're a woman it's not to be married.
It's relationships with other woman which leads me to the unhappy conclusion that having a relationship with a man does your health no good at all, regardless of your own gender and having a relationship with a woman does your health a great deal of good regardless of your own gender.
