"I see him [Alain Cavalier] from time to time. I have an enormous amount of respect for him; he really is a sort of saint. He's sometimes disarmingly kind and polite. I would have loved it if he'd participated in the "Voilá" exhibit, but he didn't want to. He's an amazing guy, a real example for others to follow. Just when things were going well for him – he had made films with Romy Shneider, Catherine Deneuve, etc. – he suddenly said, "No, I've had enough. I'm taking my little camera and I'm going to film what happens at home." I think it's really fantastic. He's one of those people I'd have liked to be – the ones I call "old crackpots." Jacques Roubaud's another one. People who are a bit off-beat, incredibly young in spirit, capable of doing things others wouldn't do..."
