I think that 'Time' is the one thing that cognitive psychology has
totally neglected, along with movement. But time is the fatal one. And I
think the fact that linguists study the structure of language as text
and don't consider the temporal patterns involved. That means they can't
relate to other forms of human movement. [...] We
have an intuitive desire to share creativity and this is all transmitted
by rhythms of body movement of one kind or another. And I'd like to
emphasize that the cultural knowledge is passed on as a poetic process
which can be made rational for practical purposes."
