"I had a ritual once of lighting a candle and writing by its light and
blowing it out when I was done for the night … also kneeling and
praying before starting (I got that from a French movie about George
Frideric Handel) … but now I simply hate to write. My superstition? I’m
beginning to suspect the full moon. Also I’m hung up on the number nine
though I’m told a Piscean like myself should stick to number seven; but
I try to do nine touchdowns a day, that is, I stand on my head in the
bathroom, on a slipper, and touch the floor nine times with my toe
tips, while balanced. This is incidentally more than yoga, it’s an
athletic feat, I mean imagine calling me ‘unbalanced’ after that.
Frankly I do feel that my mind is going. So another ‘ritual’ as you
call it, is to pray to Jesus to preserve my sanity and my energy so I
can help my family: that being my paralyzed mother, and my wife, and
the ever-present kitties. Okay?"

Giftedness Should Not Be Confused With Mental Disorder
"From Psychology Today: The 3-5% of kids who are particularly gifted are also at special risk for being tagged with an inappropriate diagnosis of mental disorder."
"It is important to determine who is suffering with an observed behavioral issue – the child or those around him/her. Labels, treatments, and medications are meant to alleviate suffering in the recipients, not as a means to make those around them happy."

Let's focus on the unattainable!
"You can't buy the meaning of life. You can't buy it, you can't borrow it and you can't manufacture it. You can only discover it."
Albert Borgmann
There's no place I would rather be.
There's no one I would rather be with.

There's nothing I'd rather be doing.
This I will remember well.

Once upon a time there was a gentleman named Winkle Porrrridgggge
"Often children high in Imaginational 'overexcitabilities' mix truth with fiction, or create their own private worlds with imaginary companions and dramatizations to escape boredom."

My hands are "all horrible" / SPD
ABOUT (no doubt).
Five 'overexcitabilities'
"Recent functional brain magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) has shown some neurological differences in brains of gifted individuals. Some have described the fMRIs as looking like a “brain on fire”, with bright red blazes of high metabolic activity bursting out all over the scan."
O resto está aqui.
“One who manifests several forms of overexcitability, sees reality in a different, stronger and more multisided manner” (Dabrowski, 1972, p. 7). Experiencing the world in this unique way carries with it great joys and sometimes great frustrations."
"People with Intellectual OE [overexcitability] frequently love theory, thinking about thinking, and moral thinking. This focus on moral thinking often translates into strong concerns about moral and ethical issues-fairness on the playground, lack of respect for children, or being concerned about “adult” issues such as the homeless, AIDS, or war. Intellectually overexcitable people are also quite independent of thought and sometimes appear critical of and impatient with others who cannot sustain their intellectual pace. Or they may be become so excited about an idea that they interrupt at inappropriate times."

Diz David Spiegel...
"Many cancer patients feel that if they're controlling how bad they feel about the disease, they're actually controlling the disease."

To ask without shame
It's not easy to ask.
Asking makes you vulnerable.
