If we're ever going to make a thinking machine, we're going to have to face the problem of being able to build things that are more complex than we can understand.
Temos muito que aprender

My old friend

Hello darkness, my old friend,
I've come to talk with you again,
Because a vision softly creeping,
Left its seeds while I was sleeping,
And the vision that was planted in my brain,
Still remains, within the sound of silence.
In restless dreams I walked alone,
Narrow streets of cobblestone,
'neath the halo of a street lamp,
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night,
And touched the sound of silence.
And in the naked light I saw,
Ten thousand people, maybe more.
People talking without speaking,
People hearing without listening,
People writing songs, that voices never share.
And no one dared,
Disturb the sound of silence.
"Fools" said I, "You do not know,
Silence like a cancer grows.
Hear my words that I might teach you,
Take my arms that I might reach you."
But my words like silent raindrops fell,
And echoed, In the wells of silence
And the people bowed and prayed,
To the neon god they made.
And the sign flashed out its warning,
In the words that it was forming.
And the sign said, "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls."
And whisper'd in the sounds of silence.

Diving Within
– "I amness", consciousness is here, there and everywhere. It's an abstraction.
– Consciousness grows and the result is enlightenment.
– True happiness lies within.
– The side effect to experiencing pure consciousness is that negativity starts to receed.
– On the surface we are all different, which is always gonna be, but underneath we're all one.
– Depression, Prozac, Ritalin
– Coincidence
– Intuition grows
– If you want to understand my films start meditating
– Descrição do processo de meditação (minuto 0:45:00)
Tópicos da intervenção de John Hagelin:
– The experience of the inner unity.
– The holistic experience (meditative state). It has with it a remarkable transformation and correlation in the functioning of the human brain. A complete transformation, so dramatically different from waking, that the meditative state is now considered to be a fourth major state of consciousness, distinct from waking, dreaming and sleeping.
– The phenomenon of atention.
– The self (0:54:38) with the big "S", the atman. The only thing in our lives that never changes.
– The meditative state engages the total brain.
Tópicos da intervenção de Fred Travis:
– Brain functioning shapes the content of daily experience.
– On the brain level we are constantly recreating networks which constantly recreate our reality.
– All experiences change the brain.
– If you want to develop certain parts of your brain, you have to have specific experiences.
– Transcending builds frontal connections in the brain.
Tópicos da 2ª intervenção de David Lynch:
– Mullholand Drive
– To "feel think"
– To live inside the ideas and being true to them
– Music "unlocks" a lot of things
– Film is a lot like music because it is a flowing of things in time
– "Water the roots and enjoy the fruit" (Maharashi Yogi)
– Meditation. peace and health
– Dreams. What happens in the physical body and brain during dreaming
– Absence of war and negativity
–Transcendental meditation vs social activism
– Solving the problem from underneath. Not from the level of the problem, but from underneath it.
(entretanto descobri que existe legendado em português).

Francesca

The experience of silence
There are two things that don't have to mean anything, one is music and the other is laughter. That is, in order to give us very deep pleasure. (E. Kant)

With rings on my fingers and bells on my toes,
I shall [always] have music wherever I go.
